Learn how one man’s dream helped set in motion the creation of The Center for Wildlife Education and the Lamar Q Ball, Jr. Raptor Center. The Center strives to provide quality environmental education for visitors of all ages. A self-guided boardwalk tour winds through habitats, including a wetlands area, an old-growth forest, and a mountain display, providing an opportunity to view native raptors in their natural environments. An elevated walkway allows visitors an unobstructed and up-close encounter with a bald eagle nest, complete with a live eagle! Wildlife programs and flight shows are part of the Center’s schedule.
