Meinhardt Vineyard & Winery has been an area favorite for some time. “Southeast Georgia’s First Winery” boasts popular wine choices from Eagle Run, Southern Eagle, Hopefulikit Red, Lotts Creek to a variety of muscadine flavors. They also have additional semi-dry and sweet wines as well.
A popular venue for tours, tastings, weddings, gatherings and private parties, Meinhardt has charm. The tasting room and restaurant are located in a lovely white cottage. There are white picket fences surrounding the main building and the well tended garden area. A beautiful pergola, out door seating and amazing sunsets make this is a great place for an afternoon or early evening this spring. Meet friends and enjoy conversation while sipping on the wines produced from the vineyards on site. Stay for a delicious dinner that is sure to delight!
Located off of I-16 (Westbound Exit 127; Eastbound Exit 116) at 305 Kennedy Pond Road in Statesboro, the Vineyard & Winery is open to both locals and visitors to the area. If your GPS does not take you all the way there, be sure to follow the signs and have the phone number handy just in case: 912-839-2458. It is out in the countryside, but worth the drive.
Free tours and tastings are available on Wednesday through Saturday. Meinhardt offers dining as well with great reviews. The back dining area is welcoming to both large and small groups, and the menu offers everything from steaks and seafood to pasta.
